REVIEWS
"An open and honest recanting of a personal journey of healing and self-discovery. Why Men Suffer in Silence is a raw read that provokes the reader to take a step back and look at others form a different perspective. Suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and depression can be incredibly isolating and devastating…Dale demonstrates that with faith, dedication, hard work, a professional support system, and easy to follow tools, hope is on the horizon."

"It was an honor and a privilege to be asked to review this manuscript. This is a story of a man who was taught, both at home and at work, to be tough and deny his emotions. Later in life, exploring those suppressed emotions became the toughest endeavor of his life. This story is a testimony of determination and resilience, a story of a tough man who permitted himself to be vulnerable, to face his demons, and to chase them away. Even though they may persist by showing up from time to time he knows them now so well that they cannot harm him anymore. Exposure therapy is an effective evidence-based therapy for the treatment of PTSD and addressing one’s issues by writing about them is an excellent form of exposure. The reader can witness that Dale not only did exposure quite successfully, but through his writing he also achieved a greater form of comprehension and breakthrough in self-discovery. This exercise of introspection was certainly not an easy task. It takes great courage to explore deeply within as Dale has done, to revisit the darkest moments of one’s life and to reflect upon the people who participated. Even greater courage is needed to recognize one’s responsibility and identify the things that require change to allow one to become a better version of oneself. Through his writing Dale has found and embraced his truth, as only the truth will set us free."
